SEO- Search Engine Optimization has two main parts; the two main parts are on-page seo and off-page seo. The facts
are, on-page seo and off-page seo are linked, and you cannot have one without the other.

The goal of most marketers, and bloggers on the internet is to rank first page google for their target keywords, because we all know that being on the first page of google can generate a lot of website traffic to our website.
A lot of internet marketers ask these questions “what is on-page SEO and Off-page SEO?” “what is
on-page SEO?” “what is off-page SEO?”
I really like doing SEO work on my website, and I fully support on-page SEO and off-page SEO. I like everypart of
SEO; doing all the bits and pieces. I personally look at SEO as an art for me.
The answer to the question “what is on-page SEO and off-page SEO?”
On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO–First SEO Question:
- What is On-Page SEO?
On-Page SEO is the process of SEO optimizing certain things right inside your website, for the search engines to pick up and crawl to see what your website is about, and the purpose for your website.
The reason they call it On-Page SEO is because you are doing all the SEO optimizing inside your website please remember that.
What does On-Page SEO consist of?
On-Page SEO Consist Of:
- Title of your website
- Description of your website
- Keyword of your website
- Sitemaps
- Optimizing your website url links
- SEO Optimizing your Article Blog Posts
- Choose a target keyword to rank for
- Adding target keyword in article title
- Adding target keyword in article Header Tag 1, Header Tag 2, Header Tag 3 ((H1, H2, H3 — H1 tags, H2 tags, H3 tags—Heading Tag 1, Heading Tag 2, Heading Tag 3))
- Bolding, Italicizing, and Underlining Target keyword
- Keyword Density (at least 1% keyword density)
- Alt Tags (Alternate Tags)
- Target Keyword in First Sentence, and Last Sentence
- Adding a Picture with your Target Keyword
- Internal Linking or Deep Linking; Link Post to Post. Add related article links inside your article post.
On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO–Second SEO Question:
- What is Off-Page SEO?
Off-Page SEO is the process of doing certain things outside your website to improve or increase your search engine rankings. Off-Page SEO in its simplest form is what you call building backlinks also referred to as “link building”
To keep things super simple, Off-Page SEO is basically building backlinks for your website; putting the link of your website on other related websites so that your search engine rankings will increase; as a result your website authority will increase.
What does Off-Page SEO Consist of?
Off-Page SEO Consist of:
- Building backlinks to your website.
Such As:
- Submitting your website link to link directories
- Submitting your website link to social bookmarking websites such as digg, stumbleupon, delicious, reddit, and so on.
- Adding you website to relevant forums
- Anchor Texting your Target Keyword; in other words putting your target keywords as a link when you build backlinks.
We know that content quality, On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO, will be the overall determinant of how long a website stays relevant and valuable, because people and the search engines like quality websites that add good value to them. The better the content and experience for the user, the better long-term SEO juice a page will receive.
So what am I saying here? On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO determine the search engine placement of your website. On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO is the only thing Google, Bing and Yahoo have to distinguish between the millions of like-quality sites. But the content you provide the quality of information that you give people on your website, making the extra effort with high-value experiences for your visitors that will help you rank high in the search engines, and also your On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO.
So the strategy is simple. Put the absolute best website together that you can, while simultaneously pursuing a quality link-building game plan off-page to accelerate your rise in the rankings, and then stay there forever as your reputation among your website visitors, and the search engines; as a result helping you become an authority in your niche market.

Do you thing there is a benefit to changing my url permalink structure from url/category/post-name to simply url/post-name?
I know it would take a bit of work having to 301 all those posts but would it be worth it in the long run?
What are your thoughts?

@Warren I think the way you have it now “url/category/post-name” is the best way to have your url permalink structure.
This structure is super powerful for example the link of your new article http://www.plrinternetmarketing.com/socialmedia/best-way-to-get-social-media-love/
when the search engines see this link they will definitely see that your article is fully about social media, simply because you have the word “social media” include in the link as the category.
this url permalink structure makes it super easy for the search engines to rank your article. I definitely think your current url permalink structure “url/category/post-name” is the best and most powerful way to go, and by the way I use this same url permalink structure.
if you look at this article link you will see it in the same exact order “url/category/post-name” well its almost the same the only difference is I have the dates included for my links.

Just put in the address of the site you want to optimize and they will generate the sitemap, and the great part is that it’s free.

Backlinking is the one tough nut I have yet to crack in a predictable, repeatable way. But it has to be cracked as you rightly pointed out, it is such an important component of SEO.
Much also depends of course on the competition – I know I’ve been able to rank without any backlinks, but perhaps I got lucky

@Dee I know you will definitely crack the nut of backlinking, you can do it, you will do it, its done. Remember its always better to rank with backlinks then without backlinks, because when you rank with backlinks that means it will be very hard for another website to out rank you.

Great article on On-page SEO. One of the things that I always try to do is interlink posts using their main keywords and to also add H2/H4 tags in the articles.

That’s quite a comprehensive checklist of on-page SEO, very helpful indeed. I have a question here though, does Google give a lot of importance to higher keyword density, like you mentioned at least 1%. Or Is it just enough to use the target keywords in the first and last paragraphs of your webpage content?

@Sarah from my experience it seems as though google doesnt give alot of importance to keyword density, because I have seen many articles rank first page of google for a keyword that they barely had in the article.
or they may have the keyword in the article once, or twice or even three times. So thats my experience I believe the most important factor in google ranking an article or website is the quality of information that they give, and the amount of backlinks it has.
but me I make sure that I always add my target keyword to the article, to meet this 1% keyword density rate
Yeah Kenny, you’re right. I also came across some websites with good SERP and hardly using the keywords for which they rank. But as you said, it’ll always be a good idea to include your target keywords in your post.

Well I’m chasing a functional SEO plugin, I’m starting now with wordpress and have worked with ALL IN ONE SEO, more is not very pleasing to me. I have done test with Yoast WordPress SEO has been very functional. For comments on this blog I will try to test this plugin. I appreciate the tips.
@Guiherme I currently use “All in one SEO” I can tell you I’m getting great results with it, and “Yoast WordPress SEO” is a great plugin I had tried it. Most definitely my friend find the plugin that fits you best
SEO is really an art and passions. You can make it on top this time but sooner you can be push down when the keywords competitions is ongoing. I find it never ending process and fresh content can help you stay on top of Search Engine Result Page.

Till Google is master of search engine ranking the on page SEO will be above 50% and 30% will be off page SEO and 10% will be server speed,page load timing and remaining 10% will be contents refreshing and usual updating of websites.
