Greetings to you my friend.

Today I teach you how to use anchor text when building backlinks, and how anchor text is directly related to SEO. Anchor text goes hand in hand with SEO.

As internet marketers or any type of marketing you do online. You know building backlinks to your website is building backlinksessential, building backlinks to your website is the lifeblood of your website, because building backlinks results in traffic. People visiting your website, and reading your content, not just any traffic but targeted website traffic.

There are many different ways of building backlinks, but today I focus on building backlinks through commenting.

Before we get to the training, Let’s an overview of what anchor text is.

Watch My Tutorial Video At The End Of The Article

  • What is an Anchor Text?

Anchor text is the visible words in a link, basically the words showing as the actual link. The actual words turned into a link by using HTML Coding.

This is how an anchor looks like

<a href=”http://www.put-your-website-link-here.com”>Put your target keyword or website tile here</a>

An anchor text has two forms HTML FORM, and TEXT FORM

Training For Network Marketers

Here is an example:

  • This is Yaisa’s Website Anchor Text Link in HTML FORM:

<a href=”http://www.yaisahagood.com”>Training For Network Marketers</a>

  • This is Yaisa’s Website Anchor Text Link in Text FORM:

Training For Network Marketers

  • How is an Anchor Text directly related to SEO, and building backlinks?

When building backlinks to drive website traffic, People use an anchor text for off page seo such as commenting and much more. The way it works is if you are trying to rank for a certain keyword.

For example you just wrote an article targeting the keyword “training for network marketers” and you start building backlinks for that keyword by commenting on relevant blogs. So the best thing you would want to do when you comment is write a nice valuable comment and at the end of the article Make an anchor text using the article link you wrote, and then adding your keyword “training for network marketers” as the anchor text.

What ends up happening is once your comment gets accepted and approved, the search engines like google will see that you linked your article to your target keyword; which is “training for network marketers”. As a result google will increase your rankings for that keyword that you chose. The anchor text is basically telling the search engines that this keyword “training for network marketers” is what you want to rank for.

So this is how Anchor Text is related to SEO and building backlinks. Anchor text is not just for commenting, you can use anchor text in the resource box when you post to article directories, you use anchor text all the time in your article blog posts emails, and much more.

(Very Important Tip: Website’s are full of anchor text. Anchor text can be used to turn any word into a link. Like my blog: look at the very top of my blog and you will see four anchor text “HOME” “ABOUT ME” “CONTACT ME” and “BLOG DIRECTORIES”. Your website is full anchor text as well.)

Ok so let’s get started with the training.

Before We Start Please Read This (WARNING: I Recommend that you use anchor text only 1 or 2 times when you comment on a website. The reason for this is you do not want to keep adding links on all your comments, on the website so that the website owner don’t get annoyed by you. In some appropriate cases you may need to use anchor text, to show proof or example of something, but for your own personal website link use please only use anchor text in your comments 1 or 2 times.)

Ok let’s begin.

To make building backlinks even more beneficial we will use a methods to comment on DoFollow blogs when we add our anchor text.

To clear things up DoFollow Blogs are basically blogs that allow the search engines to follow your link for SEO, when you comment on their blog as a result it helps build your search engine rankings. This is the biggest reason why we want to, use DoFollow blogs for building backlinks when we do blog commenting.

Training For Building Backlinks By Using Anchor Text To Comment On Niche Related Blogs

  • Second Step: Once you get to the website, you will see a search box with this title on top of it “The Premiere DoFollow Blogs Search Engine”

  • Third Step: In the search box, type in your niche market to find DoFollow blogs in your niche market. Like for me I’m an internet marketer, so in the search box I would type in internet marketing to find DoFollow blogs related to internet marketing.

  • Fourth Step: Every blog that comes up is a DoFollow blog, so once you search and the results come up, choose and click on the blogs that you want to comment on.

  • Fifth Final Step: Choose an article or a page to comment on. Leave a nice relevant, quality, valuable comment. Very Important at the end of the comment add your website anchor text link. Remember this is the format for the anchor text. The anchor text is the most important part when building backlinks through commenting.

<a href=”http://www.add-your-website-here.com”>add your keyword here- or add the title of your website here</a>

I recommend you apply this technique on a regular basis for building backlinks.

Having backlinks to your site is probably the most important item to ranking well in search engines.

Unfortunately, as a blog owner myself, I usually remove many comments, or remove the link only, if a comment contains a link.

Most times the comment is spammy anyways, but there are other options for leaving your link such as commenting on blogs that use CommentLuv and KeywordLuv.

Another good post Kenny your doing a great job on this blog keep it up.

Pretty much dead on with your anchor text tutorial I would also add to use variations of a keyword that you are trying to rank for so Google is less inclined to see it as keyword stuffing or spamming.

My point is do not use the same keyword phrase every time you comment on a blog. I like too use it once every third or fourth time so it looks more natural.

Some say that if you’re going to use anchor text, you should focus on a keyword, but Jay here posted a really good idea. Instead of focusing on one, why not focus on all of your best keywords? He’s got a point about it being a lot more natural than just using one keyword. By the way, which do you prefer? The anchor text as a part of a text, or a signature? What I do is I would put it in a sentence like so: Do you want to resell SEO services?

    • kennyfabre on January 27, 2012

@Ray yes Jay made a great point I prefer the anchor text as a text its much better where as you can put your keyword, the website title, or just any sentence of your choice

    Great post Kenny,

I know the value of proper anchor text and do follow blogs, but the resource to find new do-follows is new to me and I bookmarked it to use it with my own commenting.

I also appreciate your providing examples of and explaining anchor text. It can be intimidating at first and can help to have a basis to copy and paste from.

  • Dan Lew on February 1, 2012

We know how important are backlinks to our websites and blogs. Some of them are just relying on search engine traffic using their on-page SEO tactics, but their biggest opponent would be the Google algorithm changes. Backlinks can simply help us to drive more traffic and possible residual income, especially when it comes to blog commenting. Just remember that value always makes us winners in the game.

    Cheers!

  • Swarovski on February 6, 2012

Enjoyed your article however I have no idea what I am doing with backlink commenting. I will leave a comment on articles where I think I can add to the conversation. In my niche “figurines” there does not seem to be much conversation or comments. Therefore I tend to look at other subjects also.

When I do leave a comment how can you tell if in fact you are getting a link at some point. Ok dofollow versus nofollow I think I understand however it does not seem to matter to the links showing on Google webmaster. Even if I know I commented on 10 dofollow articles in a week Google never seems to acknowledge that I have a link.

Someone said to ping when I am done commenting. Not sure I understand this. Others say to only comment once on any website even if you want to say something on multiple articles. I guess I am so lost on this link subject.

Finally I do not know what is a good number of links over time to actually move traffic and page rank to my website. Is is 500, 1000, or 5000 links will take you from page rank zero to page rank 3.

Hope I have expressed some of my confusion so you understand some of us new to blogging are really lost on this backlinking subject. Thanks for your article.

@Swarovski thank you for commenting. First off when you comment you get the backlink by adding your website where as the link becomes your name, once you post the comment. It doesnt matter if there doesnt seem to be conversation or comments, your main goal is to comment on the website as long as it is related to your niche market. Dont worry about whether the link is dofollow or nofollow, your main goal is to get a link to get some website traffic visitors. You dont have to ping when you comment. And finally with your question on how much links should you have before google will rank you? My answer is remmeber google is always changing, its not about how much link you have pointing to it, but instead its a matter of the quality of information that you give and you must make sure that the links that you build towards your website are good quality which means you should build relevant niche related links to your website.

  • Palm Coast Plantation on February 8, 2012

Your article is very clearly written. I performed a test recently regarding the weight of anchor text so I could see if onsite SEO has more weight than offsite SEO and this is what I found.

I built 4 web pages entitled:
    1- palm coast seo
    2- seo palm coast
3- palm coast search engine optimization
4- search engine optimization palm coast

These pages were mostly identical except that all of the key areas for seo had one of the four targeted keywords only.

After allowing some time for Google to rank each page appropriately for what I optimized for I ended up with an average 8 position on Google for all 4 words going to the relevant page.

I created 20 backlinks to “palm coast seo” page using blogs with commentluv and my latest article as “palm coast seo”, and not only did that page move up to the 2 position on Google, but so did the other 3!

I am sure you are puzzled as to why the other three did also, and to further puzzle you, they moved up to position 2 and they now result for the “palm coast seo” page.

For instance, if you search for palm coast search engine optimization, you would think that the top page would be the one I created for that search term, but wrong……the top resulting page is the one I made 20 backlinks for.

    This should illustrate two very important things;
1- the importance of back links
2- the ability of google to understand other meanings of your search term and to give priority to the back linked pages of your site over all others DESPITE their correctness on an SEO level.

    • kennyfabre on February 8, 2012

@Palm Coast Plantation Joe my take on this is that, off site seo is way more important than on sit seo. This is because the search engines rank your website by how much relevant links you have pointing to your website, and how much other quality blogs or websites are linking to your website

  • Sanjay Nair on February 11, 2012

Wonderful wonderful post. That was very helpful. I have always wondered how you are supposed to insert your niche keywords into a comment box.

In the limited number of backlinks that I have built to my website, I have never used any keywords. All links that point to my site have my website URL as the anchor text.

But if I use niche keywords like Product Review Writer will the comment be rejected?

Thank you for this wonderful post once again!

    • kennyfabre on February 11, 2012

@Sanjay thank you for reading and commenting my friend, and yes using anchor text in comments is one of the best ways to drive traffic and build seo for your website at the same time. And to your question, it depends on the blog website owner if they want to accept your link or not, this is a prime example I just accepted your comment with the link.

but most of the time the blog owner will accept your comment with the link if write a great comment just like wrote a great comment here on my article.
