seo blog post

Hello Friend,

During the life span of your blog, most likely you will have written a lot of articles, especially seo blog post as a result having a lot of articles in your blog.

After a couple of years, most of your articles will be deep down in your archives. Here I just show you, a simple little seo blog posttrick you could use to give your old seo blog post new life. LOL Pretty funny huh!!!!

It’s time to republish your seo blog post, and give it a fresh new look and feel. Go through your blog archives and find an article that has new value in the current trends in the online world. Update your article, and make sure the content is fresh. Take out certain information that doesn’t work or apply in the current time.

To make your republished article more valuable and even newer; I recommend that you add additional value to it like: video, audio, powerpoint slide presentation etc.. be creative and add as much great additionnal information as you can to your republished article.

A couple minutes later you will have a new refurbished brand new seo blog post.

Now you want to do this with your article?

  • Create a new title for the post,

  • Create internal links with strong keyword based anchor text within the SEO blog post.

  • Re-post your new, re-purposed article. Make sure to add the proper TITLE, DESCRIPTION, and KEYWORDS so the search engines will index it better.

  • Make sure it’s super easy for your readers and visitors to share your seo blog post in their social networks.

Again, follow the same strategies here. Focus on those basic SEO elements like title tags, meta tags, good internal link practices. Old articles in your archives are still super valuable and is of great use to you and your audience.

@Charles thank you my friend, yes republishing your old blog post is a great way to create new content, and update your old content.

  • Hello Kenny,

Great idea man. I had stopped posting to my blog for a while, and recently I decided to start back posting and to try and bring it to life.

I re-posted an earlier post which I made in 2010 I thought might still help to encourage people in today’s work environment. Actually it’s a video.

I have currently made it a sticky post on my home page, but will probably change it after a while.

Per your post here, I will have to go back through some of my older post and do as you said, change up the title and re-purpose the content a little.

    Thanks for sharing.

@Willie yes this strategy of republishing old blog post is very effective; it saves time and it puts you on a position. Yes when you go back and start republishing definitely make sure that you re-edit by spicing up the title a little bit, add new updated information, and possibly add other things like videos or audios, extra stuff to make the article even more valuable

@Tracy well if you republish it then its going to show as the newest article on the very top, and to make new you want to update ad add some current information to it, or you could add some additional stuff to it like a video, or audio podcast

  • Maya on April 16, 2012

Good points Kenny. This is something I’ve done for a while and the benefit of using a user friendly blogging platform like WordPress. But I think a link back to the old post would do just fine. Google often cross posts from its various blogs. It just provides a link back to the original one to make sure that the original one is credited properly.

Hi Kenny If I can change my old blog title, description and Keyword then Google consider is a new blog or old. Also tell me Google consider is duplicate content and band me or not?

    • kennyfabre on April 16, 2012

@Real Estate yes you can do that, but if you want to really make new I suggest that you add some new current information to it, and you can add additional things to it like a video or audio.

  • Keith on April 17, 2012

    Hi Kenny

This is an idea that I’ve thought of before, but my concern has been that Google would see it as duplicated content, but if you add extra to it as you suggest there may be be enough original content to get around this.

I’ll give it a try and see how I get on.

    • kennyfabre on April 17, 2012

@Keith no google will not see as duplicate content, all you doing is republishing updating it with new information because in google it will still be the same link to that article. Remember that article was already in your blog and google knows that.

  • Shawn on April 17, 2012

I like the idea of republishing an updated version of a previous blog post. Some articles are simply timeless that they can be posted anytime.

  • Resell SEO on April 18, 2012

Even if you don’t delete the old stuff, you can still post it. You can use the old content and compare it with the current trends so that you have a lot more words in your new post. Just remember to put something that would entertain them. Add an image or any form of visual media that would help support the post.

    • kennyfabre on April 18, 2012

@Resell SEO I agree republishing old articles, but most importantly updating the article and adding more value to it.

  • Steve Hippel on April 21, 2012

    Hi Kenny.
This is a great idea and something I have never really thought about.
I do use a similar tactic to bring older posts to life.
If something that I have written about changes, I will often write a new post and reference the old one to highlight the change.
Not only does this drive some traffic to the old post but it also shows your readers that you are aware of changes and understand your business. The other benefit is fresh new content.
