A backlink is a link that points back to a website. Basically a backlink is a link that goes from one website to another website when it is clicked. Backlinks are also referred to or known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links.

Why is a backlink so important?
Backlinks are important because they are vital to a website’s success. First off when you build your website, you must market it to send other people to see it; in other words you must drive website traffic to it. The only way to send vistors to your website is through backlinks, which means you must post your website link on other websites for people to see and visit your website by clicking your.
Once you post your website link on other websites, it automatically becomes a backlink for your website.
So do you see what I mean; what I’m basically telling you is; you need backlinks to send visitors to see your website that’s why it’s so important.

Backlinks help your website get ranked in the search engines like: google, yahoo, and bing.
Getting found on the search engines is a big part of getting targeted website traffic. To get found on the search engines you must first build a lot of backlinks for your website. The search engines rank your website by how many quality niche related backlinks you have pointing to your website.

can I ask a question, is it necessary to backlink to sites that has high PR rank to generate traffic? Thanks for sharing great write up Kenny!

@Tracy its great and preffered that you get backlinks on high PR websites, but its not a high necessity, the most important thing is to make sure you get quality backlinks from niche related websites.
Perhaps it can help you to generate traffic, right Kenny? But may backlinks are used in spams which can not make quality niche in related sites!

this was simplicity at it’s best. I love the way it shows the importance of visiting as many other sites daily.
That one activity with backlinks will increase your site’s traffice. Just remember to leave usable comments that relate to the subject matter.
Lots of backlinks can be dangerous. Make sure you check to see if the site is valid. Also, set you site with a way to have each post needing to be review prior to post. This will save you allot of pain.
You do not want you site to be linked with some unethical person. There are those who have a go-bot place a standard post to unlimited sites. This is so their site will rank high and have traffic increase. Yet, they have nothing but pitch pages and that doesn’t sell any products. It is just unprofessional.

Backlinks are fun to work with. You can blog about a site and give more oomph to that backlink, or a simple blogroll link. Of course there are more ways to produce backlinks, but remember, we entered the social search wave last year and backlinks are great in social networking. Thanks for explaining what a backlink is.

Backlink is the best way to enhance you website reputation and popularity. Backlink normally is hard but with a great strategy you build a huge traffic to your site and without using some spam strategy backlink.
